
Tabuk, Kalinga – May 14, 2025 – Saint Tonis College, Inc. (STCI), a prominent educational institution offering basic and tertiary education in Tabuk, commenced today its significant Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) Foundation Training for ISO 21001:2018. This pivotal initiative, in partnership with the internationally recognized TÜV SÜD, underscores STCI’s resolute commitment to embedding a culture of continuous improvement and aligning its educational practices with global quality benchmarks.
The first day of the training witnessed strong engagement from key stakeholders across the institution. In attendance were the top administrators of Saint Tonis College, Inc., demonstrating the institution’s unified commitment to this endeavor: Dr. Kathleen Rose L. Guimbatan, the School President; Mr. Wilbur Jose P. Balinsat, the Vice President for Operations and Finance; Rev. Roy F. Dapeg, Jr., the Vice President for Administration; Ms. Mayeth T. Valdez, the outgoing Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation and Internationalizationfor Basic Education; Hope Lulet A. Lomioan, the Director for External Affairs and Internationalization; Mr. Mardonio Agustin, Jr., the Director for Quality Assurance, ISO, New Programs and Microcredentialing for Tertiary Education; and Mr. Angelito J. Alfonso, the Director for Quality Assurance and ISO for Basic Education. Also present were esteemed Deans and Principals from various academic units, along with dedicated Unit Heads.
The program commenced with a reverent opening prayer led by Mrs. Lily D. Leal, the Dean for Student Affairs and Services, setting a tone of shared purpose and dedication. This was followed by inspiring welcome remarks from the energetic School President, Dr. Kathleen Rose L. Guimbatan. Dr. Guimbatan passionately articulated her vision for integrating the ISO 21001:2018 framework, emphasizing its crucial role in elevating the quality of education and enriching the learning journey for every Tonisian student. Her youthful enthusiasm and forward-thinking leadership resonated deeply with the assembled administrators and educators.
Mr. Yamazaki Bungalan, the Human Resource Management Officer, then facilitated a dynamic introduction of participants, fostering a sense of connection and shared ownership among the diverse group embarking on this quality-focused journey.
The core of the day’s training was expertly delivered by Mr. Edison Pike, a highly regarded quality consultant from TÜV SÜD. Mr. Pike’s extensive expertise in quality management systems provided invaluable insights into the foundational principles and requirements of ISO 21001:2018. His engaging presentation style and practical examples ensured that the top administrators, Deans, Principals, and Unit Heads gained a comprehensive understanding of how to implement and benefit from a robust EOMS.
